UPDATE: Finally, the book Slam the Door on Cancer . . and lock it out of your life is in the final stage before launch. I expect the formatting to be complete in a week and the book to become available for Kindle at $9.99 and in print for $17.99 within 10 days. I appreciate your patience as this book has been prepared. Today’s blog post is an excerpt from that book. The blog, www.slamthedooroncancer.com is not up and running with three new posts for you. I hope you will join me there for 3 posts per week (M-W-F). I will continue to post on this blog but not as regularly. I really think you will find the book and blog refreshingly informative and empowering for living in a sustained “healthy state”.

Who You Know Trumps What You Know.
I am well aware that cancer can send you crawling through the mine field of your own imagination. You can have many well-meaning people surrounding you but you may feel alone because they “have lives” and yours is “on hold” at best. Many times early in my cancer battle, the enemy of my soul kept me busy dodging his “flaming darts” in the form of “negative accusing thoughts”. At that time I had only a dusty little “shield of faith” (see Ephesians 6:16) to fend them off. A ruthless accuser and liar, satan “brings stuff” like, “Why would you be healed when so many better people than you have died of cancer? “God is mad at you. You know you’ve given Him good reason.” At the particular time of my “diagnosis of doom” I knew little Scripture, so it seemed like this enemy made good points. I had no clue how to “take every thought captive” or even that I needed to do so. (As taught in 2 Corinthians 10:5).
Early one morning after days of such accusing attacks, my eyes literally popped open from a sound sleep, and, immediately, I heard quite audibly (at least to me), “The Bible is true.” And, the strange thing is that I, a long dormant Christian, knew that I knew that I knew right then and there that it is true. I didn’t even think the experience was odd. Suddenly I was out of that mine field and holding the biggest sword in the universe–God’s Word. My dusty little “shield of faith” was suddenly gleaming. I still didn’t know much Scripture, but I was highly motivated to change that fact because, if you have virtual truth, what can hurt you? I was about to become a close personal friend of Him who is the “Word made flesh” and who is “The Way, the TRUTH, and the Life” (John 14:6). Who you know is always more important than what you know. I would never be alone again. Panic left me.
“Once panic withdrew, my mind cleared and I became determined to know how I could beat this diagnosis. If only I could learn all about the roots of cancer. I could surely slam the door on it through my knowledge and the resulting steps I would take to change my body-mind to make it healthy and whole. It dawned on me through this totally unanticipated revelation I just shared that my healing was going to be a result of my focus on the healer–the Master Physician, the One who created us and can recreate us.”
In both the the book and blog, Slam the Door on Cancer and Lock It Out of Your Life, we discuss “whole body health” (adding fresh insights to those in this blog). Don’t be intimidated but rather be encouraged by the complexity of the “fearfully and wonderfully made” human body and soul (mind, will, emotions). (see Psalm 139:14) Yes, there are countless electrical and chemical interactions in our make up, but I hardly think the prophet, Hosea, who reported God’s observation: “my people perish for lack of knowledge” (Hosea 4:6) meant we have to fully grasp all the complexities. Only the Creator has ALL that knowledge. However, we can understand the “pure laws of health” that merge science with God’s Word. In that understanding, we gain powerful insight into disease–specifically cancer. We examine these “pure laws” in the book and, I believe, you will find they are the basis for living without fear.
