I often have requests to pray for friends of friends who have received very recent cancer diagnoses and who are already into the first treatment option suggested to them. I continue to be astounded by how many people make quick decisions while overcome with fear and without even stepping back to consider a second opinion or other options. It is particularly difficult to pray effectively for someone who has made decisions based in fear rather than faith (which can NOT coexist). On the other hand, it is powerful to pray for someone who is following their faith rather than fear in their “battle plan”.
