Watch for my new book out in early 2014:
“Slam the Door on Cancer: and lock it out of your life!”
It will be available digitally and in print. I’ll let you know.
In this post I’m sharing three paragraphs “nugget reminders” that healing is a process rather than an event. I am NOT vending fear in sharing these things–we have what we need to stand against anything that confronts us yet we need to be aware.
Pesticides are a particular concern in our food and water. Of course we must avoid toxins where possible, but we have no idea what the wind and aquifer carry through our environment. I take milk thistle every day for liver protection because that organ is “on the front line against toxins. Shane Ellison www.thepeopleschemist.com writes, in his book, Over the Counter Natural Cures”, “As a toxicity remedy, milk thistle works in three distinct ways to preserve our health. Once ingested, the active ingredients bind to the squishy membrane of our liver cells to form a protective “shield”. This keeps foreign molecules out and essential nutrients in. Milk thistle also protects us from oxygen shock, making it a potent antioxidant. As a natural detoxification cure, it can also serve as a “biological janitor” to clean up foreign molecules. Through a process known technically as conjugation, milk thistle attaches to foreign molecules and carries them out of the body, keeping the liver free from the accumulation of toxic threats. This natural detox cure can be found inexpensively on any grocery store shelf.” (Ellison, p 31). Thank you, God, for milk thistle!
There are things we use every day like cell phones and other electromagnetic devices and the air around us is filled with energy waves of many shapes and frequencies. Our bodies are very much electrical at the cellular level. We really do not have an accurate grasp at the potential danger; however, we can be reasonably judicious about use of electronics. Should we fear what is in our atmosphere? NO! There is great positive power available in our atmosphere and that is where the focus must be–music, laughter, color, time spent among nature, good conversation, and there is no end to the good. However, there are few if any good reasons any human being should walk around staring at (with the “windows of our soul”) or holding a potent electromagnetic device near their head or shoved into a pocket near a vital organ. How such habits can be linked to cancer is unclear but other potential damage, to me, seems a “no brainer” starting with a fact cancer teaches well–we can only spend time once. Moderation in all things!
There is a high statistical link between incidence of root canals and experiencing cancer. Bill Henderson www.beat-cancer-gently.com has written much about this issue and you can also find more information at www.drmercola.com . Dr. Andrew Weil, M.D. had also commented about the connection at www.drweil.com . Another dental toxin issue is mercury amalgam fillings which are said to constantly emit various levels of mercury gases. I have had considerable dental work including three root canals which I had checked by a biological dentist to make certain there is not trapped inflammation in my gums. I have also had all mercury fillings either replaced or capped since my “strike two” surgery. I believe this issue is important and would urge you to have your mouth checked out and pray for guidance in doing so.
Of course we will visit this subject again. For now, please realize that we can greatly improve our health by managing toxin intake including that from our environment, our interaction with others, and our lifestyle choices. Again, we are amazingly created with defense systems in place to deal with a certain level of toxins; however, there is a toxin limit that we must respect in order to remain in a steady “healthy state”. We should reserve that “toxin limit” for emergencies and avoid knowingly using it for destructive eating, drinking, thinking, etc. If we are already in a “disease state”, of course, it is critical to detoxify without adding to the already stressed defense systems in our bodies. As Hippocrates wisely said, “first do no harm” (in establishing health).
Let’s keep our immune systems STRONG…and “let not our hearts be troubled” because our immune systems need us happy, well fed, hydrated, and rested. Remember, healing is a life long process not an event.
