In this blog, we write a lot about healing and stewardship of healing but not in the context of miracles as much as in faithful prayer and lifestyle changes. Divine healing is not always an instant miracle, but miracles do happen frequently. People who seek prayer for healing sometimes think that, if their healing has not manifested itself instantly, they have not received it. That is not true…sometimes healing is a process of “receiving” the healing by looking for it and confessing it even when it hasn’t yet manifested. It is a process of changing your own words and your own perspective and starting to look for your healing instead of acknowledging your symptoms.
My own church has had several healing blessings manifest lately. Actually, it is very common as nearly everyone in the church has experienced such a miracle at some time in their life either for themselves or a loved one. Recently, we’ve had some amazing healing manifestations. One little girl whose legs were essentially functioning as unequal lengths because of severe scoliosis–making her limp severely experienced an instant healing upon being touched on the shoulder as she approached a pastor to sell him candy for a fundraiser. Another man who had multiple malignant tumors was prayed for with hands laid on several months ago. He didn’t receive an instant manifestation of his healing but diligently focused on that healing. He recently had a PET scan with the doctors fully expecting the number of tumors to have increased. However, NONE showed up on his PET scan….none at all.
A friend of mine has had loss of hearing in one ear for quite a while and, although prayed for with hands laid on, was not manifesting healing. It occurred to me that something must be blocking that healing. She and I recently met before church and, following the teaching of Katie Souza of www.expectedendministries.com, we agreed in repentance recognizing the blood of Jesus (the atonement of the cross) for that repentance–even of sins against her for which she might not have fully forgiven the person. Then she has been confessing healing scripture as Charles Capps teaches in his wonderful booklet “The Creative Healing Power of God” as she focused on the glory light of Jesus (the power of Christ’s resurrection). In just a few days, she is beginning to have some sensations in the formerly deaf ear. She says it feels like it is gradually coming unplugged. She is in full faith (as Mark 11:24 teaches) and knows her ear is being restored. She is praying thanksgiving for every improvement every day. Some healing is a process because blocks must be removed. We MUST participate positively in that process regardless of whether or not we are under medical care.
Many people have others pray for them for healing–hoping against hope that the prayer will work. Sometimes the effort is random and not founded in specific scripture. It’s really important to find healing scriptures and base prayers on specific ones and to NEVER pray for healing IF it “be God’s will”. The Bible is filled with healing scripture (many of our blog posts list them). IT IS ALWAYS GOD’S WILL but we must pray according to His Word (which is His will of course) and pray as Mark 11:24 teaches–praying in full faith we have received that healing. IF you need a miracle, I recommend you build up your faith by visiting www.expectedendministries.com and view the several videos on the home page that are entitled “Miracles from the Road”. These are testimonies from many of Katie Souza’s conferences all over the country. Research indicates that there are spiritual roots to disease and blocks to healing which explains why a certain percentage of those prayed for have not had healing manifest. Katie Souza (whose own story can ONLY be God at work) asked God for insight for a healing ministry to remove these blocks and received just that. It is FULLY based on God’s Word.
